Designing model cars...

I'd be interested to know if any of the manufacturers are using, HPC systems to aid their design process? If they can't afford the big systems I wonder if they rent via the cloud model?

Anyone know? Got an interest in this area and one of my colleagues has dealings with some funky linux HPC.
