Default Foam tyres for my X6??

My local club(COBRA Cardiff) has banned the use of pins on buggies due to the excessive wear on the carpet!..We can however use spikes but a brand new set of yellows are mullered after one day(track 100% carpet)
At the last meet i noticed some of the guys using foam tyres with additive which apparently last for ages..As well as being silly fast..Ideally i would like to stick to regulation tyres but foams are my only option for this club.
So could anyone advise me on which to use, where to get(in stock) and how to fit, glue, true up etc.. Any advice appreciated

Without wishing to sound facetious, the search function on the forum is brilliant. I typed in "buggy foam" and found these threads so far on oOple:

http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...ght=buggy+foam

http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...ght=buggy+foam

There is also the following thread on the COBRA forum:

But just in case.....

follow this link: http://www.rc-direct.co.uk/-c-39_198_205.html (disclaimer: other companies sell them but this is where I got mine) buy two of the same shore rating donuts (the higher the number, the harder the foam is and the longer it will last but won't be as grippy). Cut them to the width of you wheels (one donut will do two wheels). Prepare the wheel by taking the ribs off if you want to. Stick them on (contact adhesive, double sided tape etc.). True them down to what ever size you want.

The club has a truer you can borrow. Make sure you round the edges off well as if you don't you'll get grip roll.

Get the Enetti foams from RC Direct, they are sold as single doughnuts, so you need two, and a set of wheels, if you are not happy about doing them, let me know and I will help you out.

without being facetious
did you know that Along with abstemious, facetious is one of two words in the English language containing all five vowels in alphabetical order.

That's why I put in I didn't want to come across as being facetious, I know sometimes I have a habit of coming across as condescending when writing posts which isn't intended (when I re-read them I notice it and edit accordingly) - when you're writing something to someone and not saying it the same thing can be interpreted completely differently and my head seems to work a lot better in "saying" mode .

Admittedly the search facility is flawed as you have to have a minimum number of characters in a search, but it does sometimes throw up some handy gems. It is always worth a look though before asking the question as I know some people do get annoyed with the same thing being asked all the time (like "how do I charge my LiPo" which seems to come up on the threads every other day).

No I didn't, but when it goes quiet in the pub I may just throw that one into the conversation.
