The cyber 10B would be a great car to get, if a few things are met.
Do you have an RC track near you? Would you ever consider racing? Being a 4wd buggy, it is more complex than a 2wd car. This means diff adjustment and driveling maintenance (take apart the axles every few runs and clean them), as well as more parts in general to break. If you don't like any of this, you might want to consider a 2wd buggy, or a truck if bashing would be your main genre. Welcome!!! Jon |

The difference isn't so much in driving as it is in maintenance. Personally, I like to take apart and clean/rebuild a well designed car.
If you have a track near you that has 4wd buggy racing, the cyber 10b will take you far. I believe it shares quite a few parts in common with the D4, except the carbon chassis (you won't notice a difference in the handling). Along with the kit, you'll need radio gear, a battery and charger, and a motor and esc. I would recommend the highest quality radio you can afford, as radios really don't ever "go out of style", or "become obsolete". I am using a radio that is 13 years old too fly my planes, and it has all the programming features of today's radios. 2.4Ghz is pretty much standard now, they aren't hard to find for a decent price. I would recomend any of the top brand sensored motors and esc's, I'm a fan of Novak and LRP. LRP is top of the line quality, and just isn't needed until you get WAAY up there in the competition. Depending on what your track offers, a sport system is generally all that's needed (13.5-8.5 turns). I have one of these, it's a great deal: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVWB9&P=7 The motor actually has fins on it, and is not the one pictured. My combo came with a motor like this: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXXWC9&P=7 but with the orange ring. Where are you located? I am asking because here in the US we aren't that stringent of which packs you can use, but over in the UK packs must be BRCA certified (read expensive batteries only). I've got one of these on the way, hopefully it turns out as good as the reviews: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...25C_Car_Lipoly As well as this charger: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...w/_accessories I'll chime in on the quality when they get here. As for the car, one upgrade I would purchase is the threaded aluminum shock set, as well as the slipper clutch. http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/100883/ http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/100884/ http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/100888/ Those shocks are overly expensive IMO, about $40 more total than they should be. And the slipper is outrageous. That being said, and the price of the (somewhat) necessary upgrades added to the cost of the kit, maybe something else would eb a better choice. Possibly a Yokomo B-Max or the new LRP car. I'll let others chime in on that. Jon |
