Default Next car..

Going to be lookin for my next car in a coyple of months and need some opinions! Anybody have experience with BMW 316's? Probably from about 2003 onwards if that helps.

Started work on a vauxhall chevette but dont know wether to build it into a rally car or a road car at the moment. It would be cool as a road car but a bit noisy/uncomfortable for long journeys, which is why im looking for something a bit up to date.

If I were you I would stick with the corsa and save the cash until you've got a couple of years no claims bonus. Insurance will be the killer cost for you so anything remotely interesting is going to cost you a fair few quid.

If you wait a couple of years you should be able to get a decent upgrade to the current car rather than a marginal one.

That said there is a lot of people paying a good few thousand to insure cars so if you can afford it and you want to do it then go for it. That said a couple of grand buys a good few nights out and thats where my money would go. In fact thats where it did go, good times!

I'd stick with the Chevette for now mate, you can insure it 3rd party f&t only without worrying. Keep working on it and turn it into something cool. Have a look at the Retro Rides forums for some inspiration and do an engine transplant if you are feeling adventurous.

I dont think insurance will be such an issue. Im on dads traders policy so dont rack up any no claims anyway!

Got to agree with this. Skip getting a car this year. As your coming up to 18 spend the money on an 18-30,s holiday.
