Default Which brushless for rc18r. - Want it controllable : )

Just before i order an ezrun for the rc18r, i was wondering if there is anything else to consider, from what i have read on here the ezruns are reliable , cheap and will make the rc18 go like stink.

I will be using this with a lipo, and its mainly for road use, however for the future i may race if anywhere can accomodate the rc18r's.

Motor wise i want fast but i also dont want uncontrollable, a couple of years ago i had a mini t with mamba 8000 in it and it was just silly, the 4wd should help a lot, but can anyone advise?

Thanks

Col.

Default ezrun

Just get the ezrun I am using the same kit you listed in my shark and it is quick. the only thing I would worry about is if the rc18 will hold together.

I run the same system with nimh and it is well fast. You can also adjust the speedo with the program card.

I like my ezrun 5200kv in my RC18b. Fast, small and cheap but does get hot if I run the whole pack (2S 1700mah). Should be cooler in the RC18R though.

Hmmm do you guys reckon the one in my link wil lbe too fast then as i was going to buy lipo as well.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of run times are you guys running nimhs getting, can you get to 10 mins ot is it strictly for racing.

Thanks

I have an EZrun with 5400kV in my RC18B on a 2S lipo, it works well as is quick, the good thing about this is that you can upgrade to a 3S and keep the same 5400kV motor!

If you start with the 7800kV and a 2S will will probably not be able to upgrade to 3S as the motor RPM will be too high.

Just a thought!

My brother had the 7800kv ezrun. On a 1800mah 25c 2s lipo it was ballistic. His was geared to run at about 40+mph and it would do rolling wheelies for fun.

For racing i would go with the lower Kv motor on 2 cell lipo. If you really wanted high speeds you can always put a 3 cell lipo in it but i think you will find the 5400kv plenty on a good 2 cell lipo.

We tried a 3 cell lipo in his car but took it out after about 1 minutes use because it was undrivable. his car flipped over backwards at about 50mph because he thought the car was close to top speed so he squeezed the trigger to the stop. It still had plenty to go hence the huge crash.
