I raced both back in '08, so I don't think the BX is better then a B44, I know it's better
![]() Got the B44 to replace the BX, but had to go back to the Yok mid season, the B44 hated the bumpy grass tracks I was racing on. The Yok is way stronger to.

I've run both cars too, found that I had to tinker with the BX a lot to get it to work.
You might find that getting a BX tricky though as it was replaced by the BC then the Bmax, plus availability of rims spares is gonna be an issue. With the B44, although it's been replaced by the B44.1 you shouldn't have a problem with getting spares & the rims have carried over. MikeP |

Mike, I think the BC came before the BX, then there was the BX-F and the BX Worlds cars, then the B-Max.

I think the Bx is an excellent car...but it needs good setting up and as others have said this takes time. It has a quite a lot in common with the TRF511.
I think more ppl will come back to it...but they don't pop up often and spares are a big issue and expensive. I haven't driven a B44, but ppl. seem to really get on with them and in contrast to the Bx, spares are plentiful. |

![]() As for spares, my experiance with the two cars is that the BX doesn't need many, the B44 on the other hand needed a spare car to be carried about!

just wanted to know what is better and as some one said, the b44 hates grass but i think my rear shock weight is too thick as it's bouncy.

So the trf came before the bx?
Hmm...I didn't think that. So is setting up a bx similar to a trf then? |

Not exaggerating at all pal, my Yok was as close to bomb proof as a car could be, broke 2 rear inner hinge pins in 2 1/2 years and that's it, apart from a wishbone and front shock mount when I had a bit of a paddy and went full tilt into something hard.
The B44 on the other hand broke bits without hitting anything. I bought my BX in 07, still have it, the B44 on the other hand didn't make it to the end of the first year. pal

No idea if they're similar to set-up though.

I'm talking about the 511 not 501 as I'm more familiar with 511.

i think in 2005 it was when lee martin raced the bx and won so he may have helped tamiya build the 511.

I think the B44 is generally known to be durable, the odd wishbone in a big spill but they are definitely not fragile cars..
Look how many people run both cars and let that help with your decision... cant remember the last time I saw a yok at a big meeting doing well... God help you if you need spares too... especially at a meeting... |

Now they get them to run a B4 and a B44.1, they seem to have forgotten about Yokomo, so spares are hard to get here even on a current car like the B-Max. Sad really as they're great cars.

i have run a b44.1 and no issues with strength at all, had some hard hits with most being a wing mount or front wishbone....

Very nice Candyman
![]() Tbh when I ran a B44 I found it to be pretty robust, barring the odd wishbone, wing mount & front shock shaft - In which they were done by some pretty substantial hits!! Reliability issues, didn't really find any just as long as I did the maintenance (likewise with any make of car) As for the BX, I know one guy in particular in the north east who still runs his and to good effect ![]() |

B44 all the way there tough cheap and easy to fix and get spares for
But I dislike imperial screws Yokomo make ace cars also tough and durable but they have let the uk down big time with no support and late updates for the Bmax Never mind older cars I would consider going back to yokomo if they relaunched Maybe with a new car But I would have to no they were gonna try to keep supporting uk again so I wasn't stuck in the pits with my spares in Japan . And as for toughness the b44 is well strong Especially the chassis and main Parts It may do an odd wishbone or dhock tower icxasionally on a crash But so do every other car out there when ya crash em hard
