Default Any Vauxhall Mechanics on here?

Got a problem with the Vectra C 1.9 CDTi, fumes in the cabin. I'm almost certain it's not the exhaust as that's had a new flexy joint. Been told on a Vectra forum that it could be leaking from the manifold where the swirl valves are, is this likely?

ill ask my mate but

if its running with the bonnet up, can you hear a blowing? or see smoke?, on fords we get injectors blowing combustion pressure back past their seals, in which case its a new fire washer ( copper washer at end) and refit

I can't really see anything Mark. It is wet again round the injector now though after cleaning it off yesterday.

I don't mind a few £ for a new seal or the like but bollox to £1k for a new manifold

Check pollen filter for what Mark? I looked arounf the ERG valve, couldn't see anything. Looked like all the pipes were solid.

It's wet around injector, diesel, but there is also a lot of brown crud (sort of baked on) that I couldn't clean off.

pollen filter not seated right letting fumes in, id say its your injector seal, needs pulling out, cleaning out ( that brown crud) and refitting with a new washer from vauxhall

you should be able to get seal, ask for a qoute to do work. its simple for a good tech

you need this out and renew the copper bit at the bottom, (clean all the old crap out the hole too)
