Default 17.5t brushless motors , which out of these ... more top end ....

hi ... which out of these 2 would you say would perform better in a tamiya m05 .....and fitted with a nosram evo istc speedo ....

ive got a novak ballistic 17.5t , runs great , has thermaled and cut off once ,but has a nice top end , althou like i said it does get quite warm ....

the other motor i have is whats being removed from my tc ,

its a lrp vector x11 stock spec 17.5t , ive never used it as the tc was 2nd hand when i bought it ....( but i trust the seller ) ..

reading on the pc , it seems like the lrp has a kv rating of 2.300 and the novak is 2.200kv

and the watts ( i dont know the ins n outs of electrics )the novak has 130 watts and the lrp is 153 watts .....

does that mean the lrp will be better than the novak , as i said ive never been unsatified with the novak , but just wondered if the lrp will be even better .....

cheers for your help ... shaun

in the end, if you don't have a speedo that can acheive adjustable timing, none of those motors will me ballistic.

What he means is if you haven't got a speedo with reactive timing such as the LRP SPX Stock Spec or the Tekin the car is going to be slow. These speedos advance the timing depending on the speed the rotor is turning.

it does unless its the storm
loosen the 3 screws and move the ring so the cut out moves to the timing mark

the motor will be fine its the speedo that adjusts the timing, BUT it can only do that if it has the feature, your speedo doesnt.

my nosram 10.5 has no timing marks but you CAN adjust the timing

ok cheers... i knew the timing could'nt be moved on the nosram speedo , i have tried and loosened the 3 screws and the ring doesnt move , but ill try again later when the motor is changed to the m05 ....

like i said my mates m05 with the same speedo , and a motor without adjustable timing , works ok ( well no one can catch him / he's laps ahead etc ...) so it doesnt seem to limit his top end too much .....

The orange ring doesn't move, the plastic with the slot in it moves.

Use a flat blade screw driver in the slot to move it.

You can just see the timing slot in the picture above.

I'd suggest marking the original position too - before you do get it to move. Just so you know where you are if there's no marks currently on it.
