Default Bmax-4 do I need the team spec parts ??

Just got a bmax-4, the non team spec car. Do I need any of the alloy parts to run it competitativley , like the alloy motor mount (will the plastic one melt!!) or is it ok as it is?
Also, as it has plastic shocks, I was going to put a spare pair of B4 Shocks on it, are they a similar size to the yokomo ones ?
Cheers
andy

Not really you don't need any alloy parts on the car to make it competative

The centre mount would be good but the car is pretty strong out of the box.

I would go for some carbon towers as the kit plastic ones are a bit weak.

As for shocks, the AE ones will be fine on it, you could always put the new Yokomo big bores on it at a later date or Losi shocks?

Cheers guys.

I've pm'd Northy at Nortech re some decent screws to build the car as I hate Posidrives !

What did you guys use on the cars ? Are the screws the same as associated ones ? Is that metric or imperial ??

Cheers.

All Metric screws! I used the Yokomo Titanium screw kit so I was sure everything would fit, and got rid of the Philips head screws (well, most of them).

Car is good out if the box. i would buy the roll bars from the champions pack if using it outdoors but i took it off yesterday at worksop. also ti turnbuckles are always a good upgrade. B4 shocks work fine ive seen numerous people use these to good effect (and the spring kits are cheaper) kit towers are fine the phillips screws are also fine as long as you use the correct screwdriver there just as good as hexes.

Cheers Mike.

I've ordered the alloy motor mount as i'm nervous about a plastic one, also ordered some screws, just hate posi-drives !

Are the AE shocks a similar length to the Yokomo ones ?
