Hi John, I've got your pm open at work btw - just not pressed send

Ahem... breaks - front shock shafts are exposed so can break, I've never done one, neither has woody, but mrs.woody drove into a breezeblock and broke one. I think they are fine personally.

The rear camber link can bend in certain circumstances... mine got very slightly bent after some horrific offs where I managed to cartwheel 4/5ft in the air. You can get a new version which is stronger tho.

rear wishbones can break which also bends the inner hingepin - but it doesn't really matter since it still works with a kink in it.

Centre pulleys can wear out especially if the belt slips - but also there are the big belts / pulleys. The drivetrain is strong but it's the little things that are hard to get hold of when they wear out - like cvd parts and diff rings.

front and rear shock towers are sturdily mounted - so a heavy crash can crack either of them - they last a while when cracked but the front goes eventually.

ball cups wear out fairly quickly
the body shells crack at the back after a while because of the 90degree angle.

It's a nightmare racing this car at a National since currently theres no support - so if a pulley goes and you don't have a spare, it's hometime.. Thankfully theres a nice community of owners who help each other out, but it would be nice to have a shop at Nationals support it.

i've seen following parts break on the TRF501X :

Front shocktower (it cracks so you usually can finish your race)
rear belt and centre rear belt pulley. Mostly on very high grip tracks (we've got a lot of astro tracks)
Occasionally a rear hinge pin (bends)

I've snapped a ball stud off the rear hub - haven't heard of that one before! I didn't even know it had happened (the "incident" I couldn't even remember it was so minor), until the car veered right while I was turning into a sweeper and it hit a kerbing. That's when I did the front shock shaft as well.....

Forgot that one - I also broke a ball stud in the rear hub. Maybe the upgrade (hex driver) ones will be stronger? I've not broken one since but I'm onto HB ones now anyway.

Yep got those too - part number 53968. I think they will hold up much better than the aluminium ones. My parts arrived a day after a club meet. Lucky for me it was rained out anyway so I didn't feel so bad about missing a meet because I needed parts...
