was just about to say epr :P.

broxtowe was good as well i thought so well worth a look, the track held up well and had good undulations and the jumps worked well

all the astro tracks had their local heros but that is always the same and the tracks work no matter the weather so defo for epr, stotfold, rhr, kiddy. ive heard good things about silverstone as well so must be worth a look.

also havent been to holbeach for a while

RHR, Southport (with the new bits), Talywain (which is being revamped), Kiddy, Oswestry, Stotfold, EPR, Broxtowe. I can't decide which ones should be Nationals and which should be EOS's, if only we coiuld have 8 Nationals

Maybe Silverstone considered for the EOS's, IMHO the EOS's should be used as a proving ground for a National event.

Question, why cant we have these dates set earlier than they are now, some people have a hard time booking the dates at such short notice,ie set the dates for 2010 nats before this years end,??

I do agree with Craig regarding EOS being used as a testing ground. So in that case defo Silverstone for National as they had one couple of seasons ago.

Unlike some nationals over last two years....

Default Nationals

Somewhere that has no home advantage - ie track built on week before, so the winner would be completely worthy.

Oswestry, Coventry grass aslong as no one had been on it 1 month before.

Problem with astro is that it is raced on regularly and advantage is gained through regionals etc

EPR, Southport, RHR, Stotfold, Oswestry and Broxtowe for the nationals. (4 permanent 2 grass tracks) then either Kiddy, silverstone, coventry, any oher new ones for the eos's. Thats my vote

Agree in principle but unless it's grass you can't really expect a new unraced astro track at every National. There's no doubt there is home advantage but by spreading them around the country means that that should even out.

Bury for a National again? (if it's not built over by then!)

I think in an ideal word that the EOS finals should all use "laid out on an area (see I never mentioned flat grass there)" tracks as these are one off events and any home advantage effects the results much more.

From a series of 6 Nationals, and home advantage from one track can be levelled out somewhat.

Im happy with any of the venues that have been mentioned

Lets just get it all sorted before 2009 is done..

Gives people more time to book time off etc rather than last minute..

Cheers

Nick

It's all about a schedule really :
AGM - closing date for National applications - End Oct.
Committee meet to select Nat venues - End Nov/Early Dec.
December given over to selected Host clubs to verify they can meet BRCA spec and Date for the event awarded (i.e.avoiding Euro's and Worlds dates).
Committee publish Callendar guarding against date clashes with other RC disiplines. - Hopefully in Early Jan.

The above can be written quickly but there is no end of verbal back and forth with all sorts of people to finalise the calendar with no clashes of dates.
Regards.
