Hello mate,

Well I am VERY happy with the performance of my B44 but in the last race here in Greece we weighted most of the cars and my B44 along with the D4 of the guy leading the championship (the newest cars) were the heaviest of the lot!!!

The exception were a couple of ZX5 SP's that weighted around 1625gr....I was just wondering how light the B44 can become!

why do you want to make it lighter if its working well? Alot of guys here are putting weight on when using lipo batts.

Mine comes in about 20g below the 1588g limit with lipos. Hence the £1.50 of 50p coins on the top deck!

Recently discovered that 1p and 2p coins are a much better value though... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coins_o...Specifications

Cheers,
Ty

Mine was box standard, apart from the graphite LIPO tray and battery straps and a Hot racing alloy rear plate and hub carriers. With Nosram Brushless electrics, a KO servo, the micro Spektrum receiver and a pack of Vampire 4400 lipos and 30 grams of lead down the centre between the cells it weighed 1592 grams, so I guess with taking the weight out and replacing the alloy parts with plastic you could get it down to 1550 ish grams, and probably lighter depending on what LIPO's you end up running as they seem to vary in weight by quite a bit.

Have to be honest and say that it never worked very well when it was light hence the use of the Rude Bits brass battery tray and some extra weight here and there.

Running a Novak L instead of a R motor will save you afew grammes.
Running a low profile servo will save you afew grammes.
Running mini spikes instead of mini pins will save you afew grammes.
PT instead of handout, 14AWG instead of 12AWG, single colour shell instead of multi coloured shell, .....

Well my B44 is using Team Orion's 70A speedo , Team Orion's BL 5.5 motor , and Nosram 4800 40C LiPo saddle packs as well as the new low profile Orion servo (VDS-1009) and a Futaba R603FS receiver

Other updates include the aluminum front tower mount, RPM rod ends, AE LiPo cradle, rear anti roll, carbon battery strap

So as you can see I have tried to keep the weight low but it is still well above the 1600gr level!

I bet those Nosram LiPos weigh a lot more than a pack of gold TrakPower 3600 saddles..that would save you weight.

12 2p coins would do it! 7.12g each

or 24 1p coins at 3.56g each....

or you could use lead.

Cheers,
Ty
