Default What Kits Are Out There?

Ok guys, I seem to be in the market for a new Elec 8th of some kind, although maybe not for a mth or 2, so wondered whats out there and what works??

Those I am aware of:

Losi 8E2: Have owned this and loved it, still not sure why I've sold
RC8E: Is it any good, is it due for a replacement with a "B"?
Hyper 9E: Not read much on this but heard its pretty quick?
VE8: Hard to argue with price, anyone breaking chassis over here in the uk?
MP9E: v.expensive in USA?? Are there good alternative eletric K cars?

Any others, do Xray or Mugen do their own kits, or only aftermarket unofficial conversions??

Thoughts anyone?

There is an Xray one, but it's not great.

MP9E can only take two stick packs (if using ~140mm length packs).

The Hyper 9E was good (I had one) but the wishbones are weak and break at odd times - not often in big crashes, but seemingly at random.

There will be an RC8BE I seem to remember reading somewhere.

Ve8 - only US guys have been able to run a lot of hours through these - the aluminium skids are a good bet (I've got them fitted). RC-Monster are working on an aluminium chassis kit for it.

Mugen don't do a kit.

There are no problems with the aftermarket kits. In my opinion they are mostly superior to the manufacturer's own kits. (With the exceptions of the 9E and Ve8, where it's not really a conversion in the same way).

Is it just a kit you are after or are you maybe considering an RTR too? HPI Racing have the Vorza due out soon, worth a look...

I seem to remember one being mentioned, as with the Serpent (same really anyway). Hopefully they'll make a better effort at it than some of the other hash designs that have come out recently (Kyosho, Xray in particular - we were really hoping for something special from them).

The nitro ones aren't great for UK tracks - the suspension is set up for French/Belgian tracks (generally flat and high grip). Also, there aren't many set up options to change that problem.

A third problem is that the UK distributor isn't interested in getting them in.

No pics yet. Even we are not supposed to know (they are very secretive at mugen) but I know a lot of team drivers and squeezed the info out after a few beers.

There is very little (no) information about the Orion system's reliability and performance. To be honest, it brings nothing new to the table, and the motor looks a little undersized.
