Default Another ESC problem!

Any advice appreciated

ESC = Speed Passion GT 1.1

Motor = Various brushless

Last time I raced the motor/ESC started to act up. It seemed like a 'dead spot' in the motor. I'd spin up the motor go back to neutral then try again nothing. If I manually advanced the motor then moved the throttle no problem! There seemed to be a certain spot that if the motor stopped at this point it would not go again until it was moved manually then off it would go.

I've just been messing about with the ESC on the bench. Re-done all the wiring, checked all the connections etc.

Without the sensor wire attached the motor spins fine, no 'dead spots' everything seems fine.

When I attach the sensor wire the problem is back? I've also changed the sensor wire but the problem is still there!

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Thanks again for the reply. I'll reset all the settings & check that it's set to brushed.

Checked all the settings & they are all OK.

I also recalibrated the ESC to the transmitter.

Still no luck.

Looks like the ESC is kaput

Is it worth fixing or is it scrap!! Who would even look at it?

it may be the sensor board in the ESC gone faulty.

Hi DCM,

Thanks for the reply.

If the sensor board is gone can it be replaced or is it integrated into the main board?

If it could be repaired the cost would need to be £20-£30 max as you can pick up used ESC's for around £50.

I hate throwing stuff out & if it could be fixed for a reasonable price I'd try & get it done.

Are there any ESC guru's out there?

Hi Lads,

Just an update.

Contacted Schumacher in the UK to see if anything could be done about my GT 1.1.

They have offered to replace it with a new GT 2.0 at a very reasonable cost.

I think that is fantastic service & good to know it exists.
