Default LRP Sphere Comp - I think its bust...

Evening all,

I have a problem with my Speedo, I'm on my second one as had the first one replaced under the top LRP warranty.

The Speedo lives in my 4wd which had been performing flawlessly up until about a month ago. I plugged in a fresh pack of cells put the car down and there was no drive. All that was happening was the Speedo would what can only be described as screech at me.

I've changed sensor wires and tried alternative brushless motors and it’s no different.

I've not tried a brushed motor but as I don't want to use it as a brushed Speedo can't see the point.

Has anyone else had this problem and what was the out come?

I don't want to send it back again but if needs be then I will as I believe Spire are the distributers now? Anyone got the address if it comes it?

Thanks

Mike

Before you go sending it in just check to see whether the capacitor is ok. I had a TC Spec screech at me when one of the wires broke. Took me a while to notice too as it was the last thing I thought about checking...

Good thinking!

Just tested it without the power cap and its doing exactly the same. Rubbish!

Appling the throttle and it squeals, partly from the speedo but mainly from the motor...

Thanks for the thought though!

It won't work properly without the power cap. Make sure you have one on there!

Also make sure it hasn't just lost it's settings and try it with a different motor too just to exclude a sensor failure on the motor.

ares only ever did that noise if we forgot to connect the sensor wire so im think its a sensor problem on the speedo,

I've got 3 sensor wires and they all do the same on 2 different motors.

I have a novak GTB that I can test the motors on and they are fine.

I'm sure it should still at least attempt to work without the power cap?

Its very strange, if I'd plugged it in wrong or dome something to cause it to srcrew up then I'd admit it but I just can't think of anything that might be the cause..

Cheers for the tips though chaps.
