Lrp sphere competition and 3.7v 1c lipo

Is it posible to use the Lrp sphere competition esc with a 3.7v 1c lipo.
It's for 1/12th racing use.
Lrp manual says 4-7 cells
Do i need to hook up extra receiver battery?
