You'll likely want four 5015 cartridges, one 5079 ends & cups, one 5013 mount bushings, and one 9940 suspension balls. Also, you'll need pistons, the number depending on which you want. They come four to the pack, with E-clips.

Any good model shop should have all these in stock.

Yep, Matt and of course Chazz are quite right this is what is needed. You can substitute the 5079 with 5023 from Losi, same thing but a little cheaper strangely. All in stock if you require them (very low on 1.0 shafts though)

guys, i don't have this car, but if you're to use the 1.2" rear bodies, would you need the bk2 rear axles as well to allow for the extra droop (pushing the driveshaft further into the outdrive)?

Might be wrong, but if i'm not, best to add this to the list of things needed!!

0.9" bodies, as from the XXX 2wd.

The 1.2"'s are from the XX-4.

Ahem...

Time for a quick confession methinks

I've just measured the rear bodies on the Racer X-6 and they are indeed shorter than the ones on the X-5 which I know to be 1.2's.

So they must be 0.9's - sorry guys.

Shafts are defo 1.0's though.

I do apologise - they didn't come in any headed cards and I could of sworn that they were 1.2's.

I should of asked Ellis but then again, I've never taken any notice of him - can't figure out why he's faster than me.

Again, sorry guys, I consider myself fully chastened.

It also said in the article complete threaded shock sets were available, but they are not, the part numbers quoted were for the plain hardened "smooth body" shocks and not the threaded type which can only be brought as seperate items at the moment from Losi.

Ah bollocks! I forgot to check that...

How much of a biggie is it to use XX4 rear shocks & pistons? More droop that's all?

With the BK2 rear axle?

with the standard shorter rear bodies you will need the bk2 axles so i would assume that the longer bodies will cause the shock to top out before the suspension on the car does causing a few issues. if it doesnt then you will still need a lot of internal spacers to get the droop right and i dont know what effect it will have on handling so sudgest you get the proper shorter rear bodies and shafts then you know you are running the correct setup and parts for the car

Will do!

I've used it for a couple of races with the long shocks & pistons. Droop is insane, but it's been working very well though...

You will have less up-travel with the 1.2 bodies on there, and I don't know if there's any way to change that. The droop could be limited, unless its working for you as SHY has said.
