Default Futaba 3GR stick tension

Hey all,

Just bought myself a swanky (compared to my old Acoms 27MHz set, anyway ) Futaba 3GR 2.4ghz radio set. I've been running it for a couple of weeks (about 12 runs) and I've slowed down by about a lap a race, because I can't get used to the stick tension. It's really, really light compared to my old transmitter, and I find it hard to keep my steering thumb sufficiently stable with so little resistance. Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the tension on the sticks somehow?

Cheers!

I’ve got one of these and know what you mean, it’s very light.

I haven’t found a way to adjust it yet, but I haven’t taken the back off to look for a sping tensioning screw like bigred suggests, gonna look later today now.

If that doesn’t work, I’ve heard of people taking the springs from their acoms sets and installing those to great effect.

Hm. I've taken the back off, and I can't see a spring tensioning screw, but the spring IS very easy to remove/replace. Only thing is, I don't know where to get a selection of springs that size (around 14mm long including the loops, 4mm diameter). Anyone got any ideas? I've also opened up my Acoms tranny, but the spring is (a) way too long, and (b) glued on at one end.
