Default kyosho rb5 mid, tried and tested.

Seen as mid motor cars are the craze now iv'e had a go at converting my rb5 using standard parts with the least amount of modification. It's not as neat as carbon fibre and iv'e only used the basic hand tools but it handles and jumps very well, the gearbox isn't reversed as iv'e borrowed the idea from losi euros pictures but it limits the car to a 20 tooth pinion but with a 12 doulble it's plenty fast.

Making an all in one piece top deck and getting it hard black enamel powder coated thanks to the paint plant at work and using brass ballast weights made at work to get to brca weight, will post more pictures soon.

Default More fotos of rb5 mid

Nearly finished this good project, had to spray the chassis as work wouldn't let me use the powder coating machine or the anodising machine due to work load and what it was(they just don't understand this hobby of ours).Made the spacers on the chassis out of brass to try and get the car to brca weight but still need 40 grams up front. It's not as tidy as some conversions iv'e seen but not bad using basic hands tools and the lathe at work. Will make a carbon chassis eventuly when the pocket allows.A x6 shell fits nice(thanks rob harris)with minimum fuss. The car can be changed back to original chassis very easily due to minimul mods to the parts if it don't work, Might give it a spin in november at some of the midlands mam rounds at coventry, kiddy or oswesrty
