Sound's like you have a bad set up transmitter or a badley built b4
Either way reset the speedo up to the transmitter and try again

List of things to do:

1. Set the transmitter end points to 100% on the throttle and brake.
2. Run the setup routine on the speedo again to key it to your transmitter.
3. Set the brakes to 100% over the setup card.

Try this. If it doesn't work try and explain what happened when you went through the above steps.

I'm very puzzled about this.
As far as I know the car worked fine - but truth be told I don't tend to be one for slamming on the brakes anyway so I might not have noticed they weren't that good.
The same system in my D4 worked well though so don't think its the esc/motor. That said I can't think of any part in the B4 would prevent it stopping when you apply the brakes - its not like it has a one way!
Now it is possible the problem could lie in the radio set. I see no reason for that to be the case, but when I used the car I wasn't using that radio, so its the one thing I can't vouch for. But the radio worked fine in the Micro T so that seems unlikely too.
I'm pretty baffled, but I'm also sure that whatever the issue is, it should take seconds for the right person to spot and fix. Get to a club meeting and it will be sorted straight away - its too hard to sort over the phone/net but real easy to do first hand.

If the B4 sounds bad accelerating and decelerating you probably have the gear mesh set wrong like a few people have told you already. The diff might be slipping or the gearbox might just be in need of a bit of TLC.

Here is the instruction manual for a speedo that has a similar setup routine to yours. Page two describes how to calibrate the speedo to your transmitter.
http://www.hobbywing.com/upload/manu...9_20080102.pdf

Follow what the manual said religiously and it ought to work. If it doesn't try the whole thing again with the throttle channel reversed.

is the speedo set to forward/brake or forward/reverse?

I couldn't get on with it set to reverse when I tried it. I would try the same transmitter as the madrat one. if it had brakes in the madrat and then none in the B4 you can rule out the electrics and put it down to the chassis.
