Default Wheels and Tyres

After running my rear tyres bald last week at Southport and having no spares (no supprise there),I swapped some hard earned earth pounds for a few sets of mini spikes for mixed surfaces outdoors.

Here comes the question....

1) Do most people use Yellows front and back?
2) Is there much difference between medium and hard inserts?
3) Do any of you run the Losi Wheels, and if so do you leave them without any vent in the rim?
4) How does a snowplow driver get to work?
5) Does it make a difference if the tyre is open to atmosphere (with vent in rim) as apposed to sealed like the Losi wheels i have just fitted?

I pressume more side wall bite will apply if the tyre/wheel is vented?

I am going to try the difference over the weekend but any help would be appreciated particularly if it helps the rear of my car stop attempting to overtake the front!!

Once again,
cAp'slow

Seems like no one has answered to this post. It would be good info.
And while you are at it, please check my message posted to oOple Talk.

Thanks!

in the dry it will be yellows all round. if it's wet then it would be greens all round, or possibly ballistic buggy greens depending on the track (never raced at southport)

The losi wheels work fine on the back of the Cat. Medium inserts will be fine for most conditions. I only ever used firm ones indoors on carpet due to the high grip.
Most drivers will open up the breath holes as it stops the tyre being "pneumatic" and bouncy on bumpy tracks.

hope that helps

not sure on the snow plow!

Ive got a mixed surface race meet coming up with astro tuff straights between corners with hard dusty clay corners... The track is mostly straights with 90º or 180º corners of which are dirt..

2nd race meet is a grass track.. possibly damp due to the time of the year..

Ive got the kit tires minispike 2's in yellow.. to try.. ive noticed at the euro's coverage most of the drivers seem to be cutting some of the spikes off.. when is it a must do or leave them on there ? we only do one grass race a year and 4wd is a new thing to me.
