I run it tight as my touring car doesn't need it so why should my buggy, if you can see the logic. I see your point if you have carpet and slippery floor, i would just go easy on the throttle on the slippy bits.

i set mine so it slips for about 1 meter at launch.
you need some slip or you will strip spurs or internal gears. |

just to give me a rough idea mate, how much of the thread is showing where you adjust slipper.

Do yourself a favour and fit a low profile alloy wheel nut ( preferably blue ) to adjust the slipper, that way the plastic locking ring in the nut will be on the thread properly HTH

hi dave, i ran at york the other weekend, had my slipper set as per kit instructions, could possibly have been a bit tighter.no problems running between the carpet and polished floor, just be smooth on the throttle. had plenty of grip to clear the jumps and double etc,and not to eratic on the polished stuff.also ran sch yellow pins, good grip all day. hope this helps a little.

Dude, if you set your slipper for polished floor it will slip like a biiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaattttttcccccchhhhhhh on the carpet. Once they've been bedded in you should have no problems at York.

a 4wd buggy on pins on polished floor will have plenty of grip so that unless your speedo is setup like a switch you should have no probs controlling it without the need to back the slipper off like in a 2wd.
The slipper is there purely to protect the drivetrain on a 4wd IMHO, drifting it on polished is not only more fun but more controlable and faster.
