Default Pre glued tyres

In most other classes like on road and 1/8 rallycross you can get pre glued tyres/wheels but not in 1/10 off road. I really hate glueing tyres, don't suppose there is any shops that do a glueing service?

To be honest, 1:10 are easier compared to 1:8 etc.

A good tip i do is remove a slither of rubber from the inside lip of the tyre ) the part that comes into contact with the rim. YOu do this by turning the tyre inside out . you should find that the tyre sits on the rim much easier nowadays.

Iv also learned that you dont actually need much glue as well, just 4 blobs every quarter turn both sides and iv never had a tyre come off. Just invest in decent tyre glue and your away.

Want a laugh????

I remember when i did a season with 1:5 fg touring cars almost 10 years ago, you had to mount the foams first with a special elastomer glue, by far the strongest glue i have ever used.. it melted my carpet when i spilt it lol. Then Chamfer the edges of the foam insert so it seats the tyre better, then bond a belt around the sentre section of the rear tyres as they baloon under load, peel on the tyre, bond one half, stretch around the belt in the middle, bond in the middle, then try and stretch over the outside so that they sit inside the lip... then unpeel the lip in small amounts and bond together...

And the worst thing was, i think it cost around £100 for 4 wheels n tyres 10 years ago i remember buying some soft fronts as my fg merc didnt corner as well as the calibras, it helped but the tyres went off and went really hard after 1 days racing... they were cack afterwards lol.

Hope this helps.

Col.

Well why we dont have pre glued tires might be that there is no
standard set of rims like in 1:8 buggy and touring.
When that happens i dont see why not to make pre-glued tires.

gluing isn't hard, just tedious, I use thin glue and an aplicator (cotton bud with the tips cut off) it gets the glue where it needs to.
