Does anybody go off final drive ratios for the Losi or do they do it by feel of the car. I have seen myself get to my last qualifier with the XX 4 and still im not sure of the ratio and feel of the car. What final drive ratio would you recommend? With a 22 pinion and 84 spur you get a final drive ratio of 8.78. Is this classed as ok?

Any help with this would be great as i seem to struggle to get my motors up to full speed.Cheers. Chris.

Chris

Overall gearbox ratio of a xx4 is 2.3, I always geared mine on 18/19 pinion with a 78 spur which ranges from 9.4 -9.7, (approx) that was on a Spashett 9*2... Never changed the motor, all threw last years nationals and the only trouble I had with thermal cut out was at the Euro's....
