You could turn off 3g when your home and run on the 2g network then. It's worked in the past for me.

I've found that there are very few areas that you can't get a signal,except in buildings with a lot of steelwork in them.

dont come to pembrokeshire!! you'll get a signal on orange or vodaphone over about 50% of places you visit, otherwise forget it!!
