Default Rather new to lipo, any manufacturer to avoid?

Hi,

Just going to start my LIPO adventure, and after getting some knowledge from previous posts here, regarding C rating vs AMPS drawn from the esc I feel rather confident I will manage this task to keep my cells alive...

What I would like to know from you guys if there are any particular brand one should avoid?

This is my set up:
Tamiya DB01
EC Power5.5T (esc and motor)

Charger will most likely be a IMAX B6AC.

I am only going to bash and have fun, no need compete for me.

I have been looking at some of the cheaper brands such as:
* Yeah Racing
* EC Power(states that their cells can be discharged below 3v. - 2 packs for 45 USD shipped)
* Top Racing, ebay no name I guess
* 3 Racing

Anyone can say anything good or bad about these cells?

Any other makers you can recomend? Looking for something that can handle 60-85 amps, so maybee 3000mah and greater and 25-30C.

My take on quality...
1. Team Orion Brand (manufacturer=Kokam,Korea)
2/3. LRP(manufacturer ?)
2/3. Trackpower(manufacturer=trackpower?,US)

then at a distance...
4. GM racing, Corally, Vampire, Demon(some, not the cheapest ones)... Intellect(manufacturer Intellect?,China)
5...

The ones you quote I do not know, have seen them on the internet but didn't dare to risk it. And then they are not BRCA so re-sell value=0

The 3Racing 3700mah Lipo IS on the BRCA list.

I see you also have an EC Speed speedo - they're quite good, aren't they?

This list is from worst to best right...
the GM, Vampire, Demon and Intellect are much much better than the Trakpower and Orion lipos (not tried the LRP myself)

I can vouch for that comment, although the quality of the Orions IS very good, but Vampire, GM etc would be pretty high on my list

Well depends what your measure of "Best" is.

If indeed you look at punch, you're right, the newest chinese manufactured are "better" compared to the older trackpower & Kokam

I have another meaning of "quality"

(BTW, I use 2 "GM, Vampire, Demon and Intellect"mostly because of cost... and like them)

I liked my Vampire Racing LIPO - major punch, just didn't fit too well hence I sold it.

Running Trakpower 3600s and they seem pretty good with a 7.5T LRPX11

Ok, thanks all for the suggestions and thoughts.

Have now just tried my new esc and motor (Ecpower/Ecspeed 5.5T) and woho!!! It moves to say the least.

Will look into the LIPO part now, cant say that I am lured by the price tag of 80-120 USD for one battery when I can get two for that price. Maybee its my scroge in me that speaks...
