Default Lipo do's & donts list

After reading a number of massive discusions on various sites about the use of lipo's in rc racing my heads hurting!

I thought it would be a good idea if a simple list of do's, donts and precausions buy people who are in the know or have actually had first hand experience with them was avalible!

Good idea - let's also try keep this about the do's and don'ts also instead of arguing!

Obviously the most important thing is to take proper care of it and never charge unattended or on a non-lipo charger.

Definately a good idea to use a Lipo safe ESC (and make sure it is in LIPO mode) - that will protect the pack from discharging too much.

Oh, I'd also advise sticking to hard cased packs - I've no real experience with uncased cells so not saying they are crap at all, just that the hard case protects the soft cells, and we all know what sort of punishment these things can go through.

do follow the manufactures instructions
do use a compatable lipo charger and balancer if possible (tho balancer is not a nessesity)trakpower have had a pack on trial that has taken over 100 charges without being balanced and is stil working as good as when new)
do let them cool between charges

do NOT allow to drop below 6 volts or 3 volt per cell (modern speedos have this function or a seperate cut off can be bought)
do NOT eceeed the manufactures charge recomendations (1c would be a charge rate of the cells capacity so a 4900 pack would be 4.9 amps 2c would be 9.8 amps)
do NOT puncture or short them out

finally DO enjoy the benifits!
