Hi, as far as i know, having got an xx4 and xx4we build instructions there are only a few minor tweaks in the setup, as it is more of an addendum to the original xx4 (shoot me down guys if im wrong)
As far as xx4 Vs xxx4 the xx4 wins hands down on rougher outdoor tracks here in the uk as the xxx4 is apparently better on smoother surfaces. I have both cars and the xx4 just drives, runs and jumps so much better.
if you can find a good xx4 on ebay then go for it, you wont be disappointed as you can always buy the x5 squared upgrade from DMS

although the x5 is available for xxx4 it is £100 more
