Default Hamilton (again)

In the post-race interview what Hamilton could have said:

"Yeah, the car wasn't great today but that's the way it goes in this business. We have to put our heads down and push on through this rough patch. I've had two fantastic years so far and yeah there are going to be bad days every now and then, it's part of racing. Congrats to Jenson though, he's driving really well and after so long struggling now it's his time and all credit to him"

Instead he basically said: "The car is crap" and probably just reinforced the opinions of all those who think that while he is undoubtedly talented, he is still at heart an immature brat.

Way to go Lewis .

Oh, well done to Button to. I bet Louise Goodman is well peeved that after commiserating with "Jens" for so many years after all the retirements, she's no longer around to congratulate him now he's winning.

Since he was at Honda all i ever heard out of Button's mouth (Until 2009) is "The car is shocking" "The car is sooo slow" "The car is sooooo bad"

At least Lewis is first to say what a great job the team are doing, it's fairly obvious his car is way off the pace but he's doing the best he can with it - Heikki is showing just how much better Lewis is!

Agreed, it's not like he said "the team are sat there with their thumbs up their arses"

I don't know what people have against Lewis, i wouldn't be happy either if i had been at the top in my first 2 years of F1 and then i struggle to make the top 10. It's plain to see the car is not quick judging by the pace of button when he lapped Lewis yesterday.

Yes he does but remember he is not like you or I, he is a product of mclaren and every weekend he will have been racing or training, he wouldn't be out on the lash and nailing some bird in an ally at 3am and then going for a kebab. He hasn't lived a normal life so that may explain his lack of charisma, but in interviews he always comes across as a nice lad to me. He does have to think about every word he says because the press are just waiting to twist it in one way or another.

We need another James Hunt, sadly he'd be considered unemployable by the teams these days.

Button's in danger of becoming James Hunt, winning the World Title when the rest of the good drivers are in poor cars....

just to play devils advocate here... would that not have been true when Alonso, Hamilton, Kimi won their titles.... Button's (who I think is a good driver) car was WANK while they were out there winning

Wrong, you tit. Hamilton Senior was a millionaire from his business long before Lewis made his millions and shared it. Get your facts straight - or are you just suffering from being out on the lash?

Also need to remember that Lewis isn't talking to the piffling 6m Brits who watch F1, he's talking to the other 94m who watch each week, for whom English is not their first language. We're not worth targeting in marketing terms because we don't have any money to spend, that's in the Far and Middle East. He's talking for F1, creating the news and making sure that F1 is in the headlines all over the World. Frankly, Max and Bernie couldn't give a tinkers cuss what the Brits think (no British GP would suit them) and we're no longer the target market.

And, when you see the venom and ignorance displayed in this thread, you can see why!!

They are all excellent drivers, just proves the point that Hamilton is no better or worse than anyone else. Weird how everyone was hailing him as a national treasure and racing god last year then give him a car like everyone else had last year and low and behold he's at the back of the grid. When Button was doing bad he was classed as rubbish, Hamilton does bad it's the car LOL LOL.
Schumacher was the only one who could win in a mediocre car, Hamilton will chase the money and go to another team soon (provided there's money in it next year) now he doesn't have his "dad" Ron Dennis to look after him. Why did you leave him high and dry Ron?
You did run run Ron, you did run Ron

Now then now then now then then now! How come if his dad was already loaded, I keep hearing what a rags to riches story Hamilton is, how he never had any money at all and would have had no career at all in cars without mclaren and his dad worked 4 jobs etc???

Anthony, worked for british rail and worked his way up, he then left to start up his own consultancy firm and sold his services to BR. He did pretty well too and employed over 40 people. I would say to employ that many people you must be doing fairly well.

I think the rags to riches is for the sun and the star etc.
