Default Can't wait for the postie!!

Well I have gone and done it, I won a Kyosho lazer ZX5 kit brand new off ebay for £150!! It was too good a price to miss for such a great car. Hope to have it within the next few days but I will take my time on the building, I will fit the Ti screw kit and probably the Atomic top plate and shock towers straight away. Plan on having it up and ready to go for the end of the summer season and race it properly during next winter. My wife thinks I have a problem but it's Jimmys' fault! If he wrote a rubbish review and made it look crap in the photos, I would not have given it a second look.

Default I bought the other one!

Hey, I think we must have been bidding on the same auction I bought the other one! I guess that makes them twins.

I wonder how many cars can be traced back to oople? Mr oople should get commission ...

Congratulations Jony, I guess they are sort of related!! Still can't believe they went for such a low price, I doubt I have had a better bargain on ebay. Just looking forward to actually getting it and starting the build.
Any Southport racers recommend diff, one-way or spool best suited for the track? I have always used diffs in my nitros so I am probably going to fit the same in the Kyosho to begin with.

the atomic carbon stuff is good. when you fit the front shock tower, double it up with the kit plastic one (may need slightly longer screws), makes it indestructable then.

the best drivetrain set up is centre one-way and diff up front, gives the best all round balance up front.

i'd also recommend getting some decent diff and thrust balls before you build the diffs, ceramics if you can afford it, if not get some associated tungsten jobs. the standard kit balls are a bit rubbish.

fit decent screws and diff balls from the start and it saves a lot of grief in the long run.

also can recommend the 10 degree front hubs as opposed to the kit 7.5, and get a couple of packets as this is the only thing i have broken on the car.

hope you enjoy the car as much as me!
any other questions please post

Starting the build as soon as the parts arrive. i have ordered a stainless screw kit tonight and have ceramic diff balls and AE spur gears and slipper pads arriving any day. I will need a better speed controller going by the sorry performance ths afternoon!
Congratulations to Col, Craig et al for a close, clean and very entertaining A final, see you all in two weeks (with my nice shiny ZX5 ).
