Hi,
I have been getting completely random interference for the last few weeks, due to a dodgy ariel on a 40 mhz Novak XXL. At some point the original ariel has been replaced from the pcb (not by me), and I think this is the cause of the issue. Before I go taking it apart, is it really that simple as soldering it back on? I read somewhere that the length of the ariel tube can affect performance, does anyone know anything about this? Any advice would be welcome before I go taking it apart and ballsing it up. ![]() Cheers Lloyd

there is tuned length for the wire but not sure what it is if you make it longer than the stanard ariel tube, say 1 to 2 inches you won't be far out use a fine tip soldering of no more than 25w

Should be simple to replace the wire it's just a small solder job, if the wire was cut shorter than when it was bought new it can affect the reciever sometimes, the best thing to do is put a new full length wire in try it then cut it a little longer than the one on the table that chequered flag racing posted then cut off 1cm at a time trying the car each time till it's working perfect and not glitching.

That sounds like a good idea. Can I get the replacement ariel wire from Maplins etc?
Cheers Lloyd
