Default Which Brushless motor

Im getting a brushless system for my xx4 for my birthday. But Im stuck with which motor to go for everyone is saying 5.5 4wd 6.5 2wd at the moment im favouring the novak system with sinitared rotor but as im only a novice driver i dont really want a really fast motor so i was wondering do i go for a 5.5 o a 6.5 or even a 7.5 as i have learnt that slow is fast. So i would like peoples opinion's on this??? Should i just get the 5.5 or get a slower motor.

Ash, I'm running a 6.5 in my 4wd. Do you think its slow?

I think if I was you I'd get slower.

I would get the LRP sphere comp and vector x11 5.5 motor. if its too fast for you put the speedo into sport mode untill you have got used to it then turn it up when you feel you are ready to go abit (or alot!) faster.
will save you money in the end trust me!!

6.5 is fast enough in my Pred

I think if I ran brushless in 2wd I would get a 7.5 for it.

Ashley, For what it's worth my son and I are relative newcomers to off road and very new to brushless. We previously ran Peak Vanatge 12 x 1's in our 4WD Predator buggies but recently changed to brushless, although different names I'm led to believe they are basically the same, we went for the Nosram Matrix Evolution 2007 speedo & Storm 6.5 motor & same speedo with a LRP Sphere X11 6.5 motor.
Although basically equivilant of a 9 turn mod the power delivery is very smooth and controllable, as MarkoXX4 said you can always turn it down until you get used to it. When you've got used to it you can reset it and you don't need to buy another motor.

is it for a truck 4x4 drive like emaxx if so you will need a brushless sytem that bigger than a 1/10 scale you need brushless for 1/8 scale mamba castle and there about £250 for esc and motor from modelsport uk or is it just for a 1/10 scale truck or buggy
