Why in electric cars such as the ZX-5 do they have a hole in the chassis where the spur is situated? I can understand it in Nitros but not in Electric.

so they can fit the biggest spur possible
also, any rock that might get trapped between the chassis and the spur would 'fall' out instead of getting trapped |

My brand new Yokomo MR4-TC custom touring car didn't have a hole under the spur. I built it, took it out on the driveway all excited - a bit of grit got in there and chewed the spur instantly! gutted.
