Thumbs up York Regional 21.01.07

A great turnout at the York regional today, with 120 drivers in all, so I believe.
The track appeared to be very well constructed, although I didn't race on it myself I heard many positive comments from other drivers.

Well done to Jimmy for qualifying 6th in 4WD B final, and finishing 5th, A great result from Jimmy and the up and coming Tamiya review car.
Congratualtions to WoOdy for dominating 2WD A-Final, and Richard Lowe for taking the 4WD A-Final win.

Hope everyone else had a good day,
oOpless

well, despite having a RAGING head cold and sinus problems, and finishing up in the bottom final with a car that should be higher up, I realy enjoyed it. the track layout was ace and the grip was good too. wel done to all involved. shame about the late start and long day. but some things cant be helped sometimes and with so many drivers, delays are going to be expected. that was the case at worksop the other week.

well done york!

First regional back for 6 years and thought york did a great job with the amount of people there. Shame about the delay at the start, but i guess these things happen.

Track was technical in some places, which is good, sorts the men from the boys.

Again well done York!

Thanks to everyone from the York club who ran the meeting.

It was a good track, pity my thumbs were not so good on the day.

Twas a really good day, the car was good all day, no motor maintenance, had a great race in the final too

Only spoiled by a spanner trying to ramp his car into me when I stopped him cutting the track

Default Old Times

After a season of rallycross it was good to be somewere warm no fumes and no mud. The old XX which had its 10th birthday (I think) did me good and I finnished 4th in the B Final !! Just goes to show that development hasnt come on that much over the years. Loved the LRP brushless system for the first time could never get happy with it in the touring car. And not skimming brushing is a joy. Track brought back memories of old. will be trying a few more this year me thinks. Well done York Crew !

Did you get the picture Jimmy ?? The Blue old looking car ?

It was a long day guys, I live only 35 mins away and didn't get home until gone 9 due to putting the track away.

I'd just like to mention why I think it was a long day.

First off, 120 drivers!

Second, there were a LOT of changes to peoples details and no shows / people turning up on the morning. Can people please, please, please make sure your details are correct on the booking in site. If you know you ARE coming, book in via the site, and if you are booked in and know your NOT coming, get a message to someone however you can!

Practise ran really smooth thanks to Tom and Vermin, if there hadn't have been so many changes to make we'd have started a lot earlier.

Anyway, I'm really pleased with how it went all in all (meeting and personally)

G

Big respect to you Bondy, I commented several times how good your car looked. It's a bit too new for the vintage series else you should have brought it down for that!

Can I ask about booking in, when changing details on the site, do I need to email Brian first as I changed my details about a month ago and yet for booking in they were still the old ones

First regional without my Dad... bit scary but super fun. MAJOR thanks to everyone who helped me out... Northy, Stu, Jim etc for putting up with me pitting with them, Stu Wood for 'fettling' my car and giving me 'tactic talks'... muchas gracias to everyone

Found the track quite difficult to drive but fun... I was fine once I managed to get somewhere on the rostrum that I could actually SEE from...

Nice one to York Club... see you all at Teesside!

Aye, was a cool track. That must be the largest indoor meetng except for the indoor finals! huge turnout.

Good to meet Mark at long last, I noticed you managed to keep that Nitro fuel away from the B4, looked to be going well!
