Default anyone good at math's

APART FROM CHAZZ

hi
anyone a wizz at math's, got to sit some test's for an interview

http://www.psychometric-success.com/...20Test%201.pdf

most of the stuff is fine but its been a good few years since ive used this sort of stuff and my head's about to explode with questions 17-21 just can't get my head round the pie chart percentage's

so if anyone has an easy way of doing this with basic calculator..mine doesn't do % or fractions or is it worth my spending out on a posh one?

tks

With reference to questions 17-21:

The easiest thing to do is work out what 1% is in terms of students -

It states that the arts faculty has 1049 students, which is 23% of the whole university.

So divide 1049 by 23 and you will get 1% of the students at the university.

Does that help?

Personally i'd just do them with a normal calculator

Q17

Total students = 1049
Non US = 112

% =
112 * 100 = 11%
1049

Q21

1049 students in Art
Art is 23%

Thus
1049 *100 = 4561 Total Students
23

5% are Medical

4561 * 5 = 228 total medic students
100

Thus 34 is

34 * 100 = 15% of the medic students
228

Hope you follow this, good luck

Once you get into it, it's pretty simple stuff even though im crap at maths.
I worked out q18 at 410, im pretty happy it actually came to one of the answers

Once you work out the number for each student: 45.6 then some of the answers are piss.

Good luck

Surely even the most basic ones do % unless you got it from a cracker.

Default Good luck

All the best mate,

I have a similar problem trying to move from laboratory into process or another aspect but just having to wait. - recession/credit crunch etc

Is there anyone out there who has any advice about how to move over to process/engineering etc

Interesting Jamie, with my company and most I know you'd want to be going the other way!!!

What industry? I'm a senior development engineer and do quite a lot of training and interviewing for my company but also have strong ties with the production areas too.
If I can advise in any way let me know. Did I give you my mobile number when we discused the cells? If not PM me yours and I'll be in touch.
