Default Dying white Schumacher Revlite wheels.

Dudes, is it possible to dye the white schumacher revlite wheels ? They arent a pure white more like a natural nylon colour so i was hoping it would be possible. Want black rims but they only seem to come in white or yellow so im a bit stuck.....................

If you can scrounge a set of used wheels from someone, have a go. You probably the first.... but remember to come back here and let us all know.

Just spray them black, thats what I used to do with wheels years ago.
And with them having a matt(ish) finish to them the paint might stick better.

You will crash more with black wheels, i find it makes it so hard to judge where the car is on the track.

It's all about depth perception baby

Depth perception? Its wheel dying not proper hardcore porn
I can paint them, thats no problem but reckon it wont be too durable if it chips or scrathes it will show the white underneath. But if i dye them wont it do the same ??

many years ago when I was racing the gold pan RC10, it came with all white plastic parts, arms/bulkhead.shock towers etc etc etc.

so as this used to take more time to clean them rather than to build the whole car, I got a packet of Black Dylon Fabric Colourant from my local hardware store.

I put the dye into an old saucepan ( believe me don't use your mums good pans, SHE WILL GO MENTLE ), added a tablespoon of table salt ( was told too by a fellow racer who told me about this in the first place, so don't ask why salt, I don't know ), then lightly heated the mixture ( no boiling here though ) and dropped the parts needed to be cloured into the saucepan and left them for 20minutes.

after the 20 minutes was over, take the parts out, rinse and dry them and fit to the car.

Haven't done this for many years and never on wheel but the principal should be the same.

Jimmi............
Dye is more durable than painting them, it can be done with Dylon.

And while it may not be hardcore porn, it may look gash

I dyed a set of the schumacher rims black. As well as my Rulux. Works fine. Add a 1/4 cup or so of distilled vinegar, helps the dye penetrate better in the plastic

Looks good. I need to get some pics!
