Hi guys. For a day of racing/club meet do people have multiple lipos or charge in the field? What is involved with charging in the field?
And what capacity lipos should I be looking at? Thanks. |

What car are you using? And what batteries, I just have a couple of shortys which I charge when racing. I use a 12v battery or my car. You could get enough for the whole day?

Ok well I generally charge after every run, I think a couple of batteries is enough.
I use hobbyking ultimate shortys, 4600mah. |

Phil,
If racing you will comfortably get 2 * 5 min heats out of a charged lipo and I have sometimes run 3 heats. I don't know if I could get more, but I'm sure I could if need be. If you need a 12 v battery it is worth asking at your local garage as they often have ones that are still ok for a day's racing, but not for in a big car. They will often give them away to avoid disposal costs.

My KF2 draws about 1700 mAh from my turnigy / HK 90c shorty packs (4600), running a 7.5 motor & being soundly thrashed.
Two packs should do the trick. A decent spec leisure battery and pre-charged lipo packs (charged at home) will see you through a meeting without any problems whatsoever. |
