Up for sale is the Academy Mirage project shown in the pictures.
I bought the car 3 years ago to restore it but with the 4th kid coming soon I have to reduce my number of projects (4 other "projects" need enough time... ;-) ).
The Academy Mirage is for me a better Tamiya BigWig with 2 main differences:
- it has Cat-like drive-shafts
- and it uses the Kyosho-Gold-like Aluminum shocks (here in blue colour)
Condition:
- I totally cleaned the car when I bought it and soon realized that most of the suspension arms are broken where the pins are screwed in. They are from the same material like the old Tamiya suspension arms (ABS) and this is prone for breaking since I think it is not very elastic (stiff but not really deformable).
- I originally wanted to cut / mill the suspension arms out of a 6 mm Polyamid-plate (solid arms, no slots). Now it could also be an option to use 3D-printing.
- And at least for the rear upper arms it would be an option to use a turnbuckle to make the camber adjustable.
- Other than that I already have rebuilt the gearboxes and used as far as I remember 8 to 10 ball bearings (that's why there are 8-10 plastic bushings included).
- The body already turned a bit yellow.
- Box and manual are in good condition and of course Box will not be screwed up with tape for shipment/ packaging.
I ask for 39 € without shipment and hope that someone brings this car back to life. I think it is really rare and worth to keep it alive.
Any questions- just pm.
Cheers
Ralf
