Default PLAYERS '09

Worksop Radio Car Club have been running a massively successful off road series already this winter but have now announced a special annual international event - the PLAYERS '09

Run to a REEDY style format, the best drivers will battle it out for the top honours in 2WD and 4WD - with international coverage from LIVERC.COM and top international drivers already confirmed, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest races in Europe.

Entry forms and further information will be available soon, and we'll have it on oOple first of course.

Don't think they'd let the likes of us in Col

And for £30 per class they could swivel anyway

From the looks of it, is the open section standard first come first serve whenever entries open? Sounds a right laugh and hope it is open, can't make the indoor finals this year due to a stag do, this would be a class race to do instead!

True Pete, and I'd missed the £30 per class as well!!

It's just that booking in is not open, but "top international drivers already confirmed" implies that the mere mortal drivers will not be able (or allowed) to race.

Might be wrong, but aren't the indoor finals back at York this year?

Yeah they are at York, but I can't race on the finals weekend, this is a "big" alternative the weekend before!

Someone can clarify but I think the entry method is a certain number of people are invited into the "players" section, then there is a separate open section anyone can enter? However, they'd be free to still pick the best open entries rather than first come first serve I guess?

Can anyone clarify, never seen how the Reedy race works and assume this is the same?

Default more info......

Right let me try and answer some questions.................
Is the event invitational??
The event is invitational for international drivers that we invite through their sponsors, all other entries will be available and will be open to anyone and everyone on a first come first served basis through postal entries only and pre paid.
They can swivel for a £35 entry fee?
The entry fee remember covers the full cost of all practice available for this event and all your racing for 3 days!!! Included in this fee is the cost to rent the venue for 5 days to enable us to set up and also pack away the equipment and track etc. All mains power will be available for all. Also please note that there are many top prizes going to be up for grabs on the day for anyone to win, ie a brand new Ko transmitter and receiver package worth almost £400 and many many more nice prizes!!!!
Rostrum a bit cramped??
The rostrum for this event will be professionally constructed of scaffolding and will be at least 10ft high and 30ft in length, (mis print on form)

"And for £30 per class they could swivel anyway "

nice comment...polite...

Worksop is £10 per for a days racing, at this event you get three days racing so its £30..(two classes) And theres a lot more besides for your money..

Its an open competition for everyone but we've asked a few top names to come from abroad thats all - to give you guys the chance to race against former world champions and the worlds best to make this a special meeting..

You are not invited into the Players section, after 3 rounds of qualifying the top 32 with best 2 out of 3 score will move into the Players category and race eachother 8 times for points, not times.. The rest will remain in an open class and battle for A,B,C finals etc all with 3 legs.

We'll release more information soon...

Thankyou very much DaveG nice to hear comments from people appreciating all the hard work and organisation that goes in to setting up and running these events for you all. There were not many days when we were off work between Christmas and New Year, that we weren't actually sat doing something to do with arranging the forth coming events at Worksop!!
Just make sure you get your entries in as soon as we release the entry forms and fingers crossed you shall get an entry!!!
