Default Will it kill my car?

Hi guys,

I resurrected my Yokomo MX4, stuck a lipo in it and now have an idea of swapping the 8T brushed motor for something silly.

I wont be racing it (I race GT12) so its purely for giggles.

Will it strip everything putting a 3.5T motor with all the boost it can take?

Secondary question: I've never 100% understood why on the bigger circuits people dont use 3.5T motors. Are they just uncontrollable? Can't you just use less / controlled throttle in the twisties and then you have an insanely fast car for the main straight?

Obviously GT12 is 13.5T blinky so I've not had a chance to experiment.

Martyn

Default 3.5

Let us all know how you get on with the 3.5....
My vote is if the gearbox does not strip the esc will pop. When you crank up full everything make sure to turn the overheat protection off.

Just stop messing about with the old car and put the 3.5 in your GT12

There were 4.5s going around at the Worlds. Try and find one of the Vortex ProRace/SP/Tekin/Viper/Trinity 2.5s and let us know how you get on with one of those - make sure your LiPos have some poke too, 100C should do it.

stop messing around and put a 2.5 in the thing, it'll only cost you 14 quid as well
