Default thunder dragon 1987, Ford Escort 1992 - possible to get new batteries?

Hi, I built 3 Tamiya 1/10 scale RC cars (rs escort, dragon and a Peugeot 306) when I was young but all have dead batteries which only give partial power for about a minute.

Is it possible to buy batteries for models like this? Do the replacement batteries work?

Or should I try and sell them and buy a new rc car?

Would there be interest for these models in the for sale section? all models are complete with instructions, boxes, controllers etc. kits are numbers #58112 , 58073,
58224.

The car's are in england, near Reading. I am visiting next week so it would be good to deal with it then.

You can still pick up batteries that will work with all the stock electrics and if you stay with nicads I think it was it should e pretty cheep.
Then on the other hand you could go all out and modernise them with brushless setups and lipo battery's for extra power and run times.

The old Tamiyas can fetch pretty good money on eBay if you wanted to sell up and invest in somthing new. Search the completed listings in eBay and you'll get a good idea of worth, Imo the Escort will be the most sort after out of the ones you have they can go for a lot.

Thank you for the replies.

I am only in england for 5 days which makes going via ebay not ideal. I expect my parents will move house soon so I am trying to get move on my old stuff that's over there

It would be nice if a collector was to take these projects on, as I think a collector would be very happy to have them and I would be happier with a modern car.
