Default Speed Passion Reventon Pro ESC Question

I recently bought the Speed Passion Reventon Pro V1.1 ESC Comp V3.0-6.5R Combo and have wired in everything and it seems ok, but the LEDs on the ESC indicate that it is operating sensorless mode, when I believe the motor is a sensored motor.

The ESC calibrates and will run the motor, but only the orange light is illuminated. I have completed a continuity check on the sensor cable and this is fine.

Just wondered if anyone could offer any advice on whether this is normal, or have I missed something obvious?

Thanks in advance.

I run Speed Passion Reveton Pro's in my K1 & KF !

If all is connected right this is how mine work,
At neutral both the red and orange light is on
At full throttle the Red light is on

This is from the manual !!

Sensored Status error lights:

Red flashing - low voltage
Orange flashing - overheated
Red & Orange solid on - Sensored motor
Orange solid on - Sensorless motor
Red & Orange flashing - sensor wire disconnected

Sensorless Status error lights:

Red flashing - low voltage
Orange flashing - overheated
Orange solid on - sensored / sensorless motor

If all checks out ok, try a new sensor lead and re-calibrate !

Depending on where it came from, there were a batch of the motors that were duff. I know of at least 4 that failed.

So after you've tried a new sensor cable, try another motor, one with a known history. (to rule out the sensor board.)

Before you do any of that, make sure the ESC has the latest firmware in it. There are a few oddities on the ESC that can only really be fixed by updating the firmware (or just reinstalling the same one). I've had brake issues, thermal cut off and LVC issues with mine. All dealt with now tho!
