A new resource for b-max(2/4) lovers

Currently I'm working on two dedicated 'b-max' websites. This means: one for the b-max2 and one for the b-max4.
This means: a dedicated source for both cars on both seperate websites. I know there is PetitRC and I love PetitRC, but it's a bit static. There isn't much going on to interact with other b-max people.

Yeah, we have Oople (and even PetitRC forums) for that... But not everyone is on Oople or speaks English.

I'm looking into this, so a couple of highlights I'm thinking of implementing:

* Setups [upload/download/'share'] & ratings
* Show your b-max
* Where to get Yokomo stuff
* Where to get upgrades
* Tips&tricks (there are a lot of things happening)
* Mobile first, so optimized for your tablet/mobile when you are at the track

Yes. I won't be building a forum as it would be a duplicate of all those other forums. I prefer Oople. My profession is to build software, so I'm looking forward to put a alpha version online soon. Any one interested or maybe some tips/features wanted?

Just did some work. It's all running with a database and stuff.

Layout isn't done yet, but i'm already done with a base layout:



It's all responsive. All setups will be converted to png and are downloadable (if available) as PDF. More soon, as I quit developing for tonight.

Not much. Did some more development work last week. Will put a béta online soon. I will continue development tonight.

First version won't include several 'user' features like : uploading your own setup, reviewing and sharing. This will be included in further releases.

Once online, I plan to do a weekly release schedule. So every week new features.

Oh to clarify: the website is fully database powered.. no more html hacking and manual updating. List in screenshots is incomplete, it's test data.

Submission will work when I release the first version. In development (i use a development/unstable, stable and live environment) it's not working, because I redesigned the whole layout first. I'm just thinking about people to upload a pdf or image, or maybe both. All setups on the website are stored as png's, because it's easier for mobile devices. I do however, if available, have the pdf's, which will be converted to png - and downloadable as pdf.

I'm currently adding a shop list - so people can see where to buy the great car . I've had no contact with shops (I need their permission first, i guess) yet, but will do once online. I will post some updates tonight, it's getting close. I hope lots of people will use it.

Maybe, if possible, I'll post a test (for stable) link as well, just so you all can try it out. Oh, everything is free of charge of course, I don't want people to pay, this hobby is more than expensive enough :P

@Arn0, thanks. I should thank you as well, I know it takes a lot of work to maintain a website. But I would like to involve the drivers to upload and talk about their own setups (and more).

Just finished up the setup submit form. Have to tweak the submit process a bit this week and I'll probably put it online then.

I totally forgot to implement 'Track Conditions'. This has been done now. The only thing is that I'm not happy with the form. It's too busy. Will have to sort that out.



Adding goes smooth. Easy user experience. List also has been updated a bit. Still have to find a decent way to display track conditions.

Looks good so far. I guess you can't get a feel for it from screen shots, until you actually use the site. looking forward to using it.

Not sure how relevant/useful the slider for traction % is? e.g define 45% traction?

Slider is more to specify the traction level. Imo it's better than low/medium/high grip. Since "75% grip" is between medium/high.. Maybe I'll refactor that functionality in the future.

Sorry for the delay on pushing code to bmax2 as I had some other stuff to do. If all goes well I'll launch the first version of the website this Wednesday.

I'm working on some small bugs now - then will test - and will release.

Hope you are all looking forward to it. First version will be a bit bare, but functionality will be added throughout time.
