Default Rc sales

Do any of the main manufactures post there sales anywhere?? im curious to see how many there are selling or specific models.

I was looking online this morning and saw the new cat models an im just curious to see how many they will actually sell. Im not saying bad things about the cat or any of the shu team, just curious to see.

No Rc distributor or manufacturer will post this information, it would be totally mad to let fellow competitors what type of kit/product are selling well.

It's a tough enough business to be in with out giving away your sales information.

You can have a rough guess by checking out what type of cars are trackside but that's about it.

yeah, i got their news letter with these on. An extra £20 just to have it built for you? Don't think there will be many takers. I assumed it would have a few custom bits on but sounds like a normal kit, just built up.

Thats not to bad i guess its only 20quid. But for wot version?? I just thought that a car such as that one would be better if the person running it built the car to understand the parts and get to know how it is built. U can understand a low end car being built for you, but such a good car makes me wonder why there is a need for this.

I know i would never build it to the standard that he does, and straight out the box it would be a perfect car for a national or sonething, unlike say a B4 RTR, but how long would the car stay like he sets it?? a race, 2 races, a meeting if its something small, or the first corner if u bin it.

I tried to do a Uni project based on setting up a warehouse of rc stuff and selling through magazines (pre interweb thingy, showing my age!).

Absolute nightmare, couldn't get any shops/distributors to even give a rough idea of sales or gross margins, which is understandable but a pain to ever work out a business plan! (especially if distributors won't give you a rough idea!)

before anyone says this isnt directed at one manufacture. I have the same thought about those special edition hara D4's, and any others that are out there.

I would easily pay £20.00 for a kit built by phil booth.
If i were a schuy fan its a great idea
have a car to play and keep built by the man.

however if you are cash concious and like to buid your own then thats fine. For me the pleasure is in the building but not everyone thinks the same.

regards to amount sold, i had some interesting discussions and many many racers have a very way out view. this i can understand due to heavy marketing. for any race car think of dozens or maybe hundreds but never thousands into uk.
It is also tough to calculate due to the amount of sales out side of the Uk suppliers.

You will only ever get trade prices and info after opening an account and having undergone reference checks.
