Why aren't they running slicks though? Must say that looks pretty damn hideous to be fair.

...well, most of them are running slicks take a look here -> http://www.motorsport-total.com/f1/b...999&sort=1&d=1
...you can also see Honda`s attempt on the new front-wing.

I think they are right to switch from aero to mechanical grip, hopefully there should be some close racing next season.

Seems some odd combinations of teams trying front and rear wings, slick tyres on old cars, just front wings

Is the plastic bag a new change for 09 lol, i think they look ok from a side view. I am sure after a couple of race's it wil seem the norm.

The plastic bag could be holding the KERS device on....
![]() Sounds like they're so big and heavy, they don't know where to put it.... ![]()

...some are running the complete KERS package and some teams are testing just some single components of the KERS system! BMW had one full KERS powered F1-08B (Christian Klien) and one without the KERS stuff driven by Robert Kubica. It seems to be not 100% clear to what extend Ferrari uses the system right now. To be honest most of the teams do not really seem to have a plan. Some use standerd 2008 areo with slicks, some 2008 Monza-aero with groove tires or slicks, Honda with a 2009 front wing / Monza rear-wing but with the next year forbidden litte wings on the side-pods.......very strange and interesting. ....and as for the looks, just let them play a little with the new stuff and they will come up with much more elegant versions! ....hopefully this will not be a next 1996 next year, when every team except Williams and Jordan got the cockpit sides wrong and painfully ugly....

Is KERS this push to pass button biz? In theory I think thats a good idea like in thold days they could up the boost to pass but had to watch fuel levels.
