Default AMB20 poor loop range?

Hi all

Had problems with our AMB20 system last night; has run reliably for months, but last night the loop had little on no range, as in transponder had to literally be run across the carpet for it to receive, and still this was unreliable.

Tried changing the coax and the loop, tried multiple transponders, checked transponder voltages, now wondering if it's the box?

Anyone with any experience of this specific issue? Open to the fact it might still be loop/coax but ran out of time last night to fix at club.

Any advice appreciated on things to test, if not, any advice on the right people to get this fixed for a reasonable price appreciated.

Thanks, Andrew on behalf on 1066 Racing

You could turn the sensitivity up on the AMB 20 boxes.

I am guessing you tried this though? Just wondering if the dial has been knocked or truned down by accident.

With regards to repair Rob nelson at BBK would be my first point of call although I would say that with it being a discontinued unit you might not have much luck finding someone to repair it.

Thanks for this; we did try, but made no difference...we now know why!

Hidden in the front of the mains plug (the pronged side) for the 12v transformer that powers the AMB box is a switch to set the voltage; it had been moved from 12 to 7.5, hence it was on, but with not enough power to the loop!

Tried everything we could think of last night, sadly we didn't think of this!

Thanks again for the reply; solved.
