Default TRACK PREPARATION FOR REGIONAL

If anyone is available to help on Thursday 14 August at 5.30 pm for a couple of hours then this would be appreciated.

We need to get the track in shape for the NE 4wd Regional on the Sunday.

We need help with strimming, mowing, track repairs, line markings and possibly a little painting if the weather is in our favour. Even if the weather is not very good, we still need to prepare the track so please do not let this put you off.

Do not think that others will help so you do not need to turn up - if everyone thinks the same the track will not get done. Even if you are not racing on Sunday, you can still help with the track - more hands make lighter work.

Thank you
Dianne

The recipient pays the international part of the costs, so it may be costing a lot, but not for Dianne...

SMS are free to receive worldwide, also there is no additional cost to the sender
(as how would they know if someone was overseas)

It was 8 o'clock before we finished last night with the track. Hope all club members enjoyed their tea had an enjoyable evening - I went straight to the track from work.....

Thanks to John Price and Adam Clark (not local) and also to Mike Cockerill (not local) who came to drop off the NE Regional computer equipment and set to work helping us - or we would have been even later.

I appreciate that some members live a distance away and local members may feel that it is always the same ones to turn up to do the work - which is sometimes correct - but in order for the club to survive, volunteers are needed - hence my commitment to running the meetings!

Some members were working and let me know - but I wonder if you worked as late as we did?

Could I also point out that, even if you are not racing at the regional on Sunday, a bit of effort to help would not go amiss - in the end it is all to the benefit of the club and helps to keep it running for all members.

Why do clubs close? Lack of volunteers to do the work and those few people who do volunteer get fed up of doing it every time .....

Dianne

Oops... sorry Dianne.....my excuse is that it was bouncing with rain in Wharfedale at 4.30 so didn't think it was worth setting off..
I fully understand what you are saying though...a club cannot just rely on one person it needs a strong committee....perhaps there should be a meeting to discuss this..?

I finished at 4am on Thursday night. I'm working on a project that needs to be finished to a deadline. I am sorry I couldn't make it this time, I was at the last one strimming and mowing.

The issue of lots of members split across three different regions this year means that the people who may come to a work party for a club regional is already limited to the people doing the one that Batley is part of, NE. I think attendance during the whole summer has suffered as a result, unfortunately.

I'll be at the track early Sunday to help with the setup.
