Default Team Azarashi Tateego shell

Hi Guys, I was interested in this shell for my 501, Have any of you used this before? Does it give you more room to fit Brushless ESC with fans on?

The std shell is so tight and rubs the fan at times, out of interest does the WC 501 shell have bigger bulges for the BL speedos?

If you know of any other options then let me know, Baldre etc

Mark the one I found giving the best room for brushless is the Yokomo BX4, got mine from Brock.
I'll check the link and give next.

Just checked its the MR4BX shell and under body but they do not have any at the moment, heres their link anyway

The Tateego shell is tighter around middle, it actually comes in and touches the chassis just infront of the body posts so if you have a largish speedo mounted behind the motor you will have to move it across the car. It does give you another few mm either side on the front and the general shape gives you more space overall.

I could take some profile pictures for you with the shells side by side if it would be of a help ?

I hope he won't mind me saying so but there is a user on here called "chrispattinson" who has the Tateego shell on his 501.

Chris is notoriously untidy with his electronic installs so if he is happy with it anyone would be! Might be worth you dropping him a PM.

I use it on my 501, definitely more roomy than the normal shell near the front, if you run a low profile servo you'll deffo be fine as you can push the ESC forwards, if not it does taper down further back so not so sure!

I can bring mine to Broxtowe this Sunday if your there?

Thanks for the offer but I'm away this weekend so no racing for me! I have put losi esc behind the motor so I can change motor/ pinion easily, tried 501 shell today and it just catch's fan so may look at yok shell but it doesn't seem right to have this shell on the 501. I may still try Azarashi shell on it.

The 501 worlds shell has a longer raised section, not sure if thats any better, are you using the standard one?

Didnt have time to set these up properly but here's a rough guide, they are scaled to be the right size in comparison to each other. As you can see there is significantly more room to the Tateego shell at the front.

I got the azarashi body too. What I would say, is that overall there is more room. However as said before around the center of the body (along the bottom of the side "window") it is lower than the tamiya body.
This is how I layed out my electrics for the tamiya body, but with the azarashi body, I had to route the wires from the ESC to the motor through the drive belt (which is neater anyway). In order to get at the screws to get at the motor, the ESC is mounted with velcro.
Personally I prefer the Azarashi body for fitting stuff in.

The azarashi body looks cool too! I got mine from europe, but had I known that DMS had them in stock i would have bought it there, though they got enough of my money over the last few months!!

With the speedo behind the motor the tategoo shell wont fit on my car as the speedo sits out too far. I intend to move it to the other side of the shell and route the wires underneath the front top deck which should be just as neat although it'll mean a speedo removal to change pinion. Should improve cooling although that's not an issue for me anyway.

I have my wiring similar to The Doktor, which has left it a bit of a tight fit with the standard 501 shell, so must see about changing to the azarashi body shell

Darren could you link me to the ones on your website, thanks!

Thanks for the pics mole2K, very handy, I see what you mean it does swoop in after the motor, maybe it will have to be a yokomo shell to fit it all in, I will try and drop in DMS to eye both of them up and see whats best.

Hupo was running that mystery shell at the Euros and had a lrp itc speedo in it, I wonder what it was and what undertray he used??
