Default Trackpower Charging Options

What would you recommend as the best charger for trackpower lipos.

The trackpower one or a LRP pulsar 3.

Is the need to balance the cells important, don't think you have this option on the LRP

Would you buy the trackpower balancer to use with the LRP.

Lots of daft questions I know but just looking into Lipo

if you have the lrp go for the balancer and use what you have.
if you have nothing how big is your dudjet? the bc6 is top notch as its mains/12 volt balances and charges other cell types

You don't really need a fancy charger for charging Lipo, although a balancer is a very good idea.

A balancer will keep the packs in tip top condition and maintain ultimate performance for longer.

Trakpower V-balancer is very cost effective and does everything you need.

Likewise the Trakpower charger, very cost effective and does as much as you need it to. Only slight negative is that the charge amperage only increments in 0.5 amp steps but it's not really an issue.

I personally prefer to use a lipo only charger as there is no way of accidently charging your Lipos on Nimh settings, which would be very bad.

Ive just sold my Pulsar 3 as ive had no problems with the Trakpower Charger.

I sold my Pulsar 3 ( i got £85 ), kept my Trakpower one and pocketed the change

I always charge with the Trakpower balancer inline but im told that its not needed every charge.

craig if the trakpower balancer is used in line with a normal charger the balancer will terminate charge if the charger fails, hence why i allways recomend the balancer, its just an added saftey feature even on a lipo charger (please take this as pointing something out and not as negative!) i agree with your post

rob balancing is not essential but it (as has been said) keeps the cells in top condition, presume you still have nimh so to sell your lrp would prob leave you stuck with those cells then, try lipo, if you like then do the same a richard did. if you dont like them (doubtfull) then the balancer will sell on

Thanks for the advice guys, bit clearer now. My situation is that I have an LRP Pulsar 2 for my nimh and was thinking of getting a second hand Pulsar 3 for Lipo and trying to sell the 2.

If I need the balancer anyway maybe just as cheap to keep the LRP2 for the moment and just get the trackpower charger system.

Whatever way way think will give it a try

sell the pulsar 2 and get a bantam BC6, that's what i've just done. you are covered for everything then, mains, 12v, NiMH, balancing Lipo. All in one nice neat unit.

If you are thinking of getting this charger then you will want a balancer for it anyway.

The BC-6 is quality mate, when running on 240v the crocodile clips give out a 12v feed so you can connect everything 12v to it so you don't need a seperate 12v power supply.

£104 from Microtech. Flighttech the distributor are currently waiting on the next shipment, which is due in 2 weeks time, so you may struggle to find any in stock anywhere.

not advisable if your charging on high amps with the bc6
