Hi all
It may well look like Ill be getting a 4 II and want to know a few things. Is there another shell that fits? B4 III?? Or really close? What pistons are recommended, high grip astro. I currently have the stock black and white tapered, anyone try the 2 hole 1,6/1,7 Do the AE pistons fit? I can't seem to screw the rear part of the slipper down snug. It binds the bearings. I have to back off a couple of turns. Is anyone running a spacer or something here How do I adjust toe in the rear? Thanks |

Team Azarashi has made a body for the B-Max4 II, the "Womoog". Yokomo has a LW and normal body. LW body is included with the latest II.
Parts are harder to get (especially everything that's not suspension related), why not going for a III? I know the II is cheap at the moment, but support is going to be dropped. Even though the car is nice to drive I wouldn't buy it new. I still have one myself, but enjoying the III a lot more. It's a more modern car. Shocks (in the latest II) are the same as the III and B-Max2. Don't know if AE pistons will fit, but Yoko's pistons are cheap and I would go for 1.6 and 1.7. You can change rear toe with the Alu rear blocks and carriers.

Thanks for the reply.
If the shocks are the same then the AE pistons fit as I ran them in my mr2 when I had it. ATM its all about $$ for me. Id look at getting 2 cheap used ones(usually with a few spares) and have a 4wd and run one as a 2wd. Not the best maybe but apart from finances Im not looking at winning anything major and Im not doing EM here. Its more for fun now as Im in 2 minds weather to pack in rc for a while |

I hope racing with toy cars is fun for everyone..
![]() If it's about budget, grab a II. They are available NEW for around 300eu and probably cheaper when you are looking into used cars.

If you are looking for alternative shells for the B-Max4(II), B44.2 bodies seem to fit quite well. IIRC I saw a B44.2 Bulldog on a Max somewhere on oOple.

Well I managed to strip the 2 shells that I got with the chassis and repainted them, so Im not needing a different one.
Ill get a pic up later I emailed Haskins aka penguin designs and he will be checking if his V3 shell fits a V2 in a week or so. I do like that shell and Im a fan of the cab forward I think the finnisher xray may fit as its a little more flexible than the stock xb4 that can be made to fit with the bottom flared out a fair bit I have ran the car as a 2wd one day and must say its really stable. Changed to F 2x1.5 35TLR with AE pistions AVID purple R 2x1.7 32.5 TLR with AE pistions AVID red I did however strip a spur and the small drive shaft pinion in the rear gearbox. Have the gear boxes ever had problems with flexing? Just thinking that as there may be extra pressure on it now as its not in 4wd mode. I am having a little trouble jumping as long as I would like consistently, like its slipping (slipper) or I need to up the punch/boost . Saying this I do have a TD 85 spur cut out and xray xb4 pads on it and the diff feels a little notchy. I have never really had to work with ball diffs as I have always ran gear diffs. Ill get those original bits and freshen it up to stock and go from there. Anyone else do spurs/pads you recommend? As well I do have the shocks out on arms and in on towers so next time I will raise them up a little. |

if you are after a body shell take a look on ebay for Penguin Custom Body Shells or look for Steve Haskins on here as he has moulded an alternative to the original shell

Well I have tested it as a 2wd.
The car had the soft chassis and top deck at first unknown to me till I checked the other day. Swapped them over and I must say it works really well as a 2wd. It does have a bit of under steer but helped when I swapped to different tires. One thing is that we have a double triple or 2,2,1 and I just can't seem to get the kick to clear it on a regular basis. I will recheck the the esc settings. I have stripped a couple of crown gears and pinions in the rear diff, this is really annoying as its not as simple to remove as other brand cars. Does anyone know if there is a harder gearbox or alu bits that fit? I stripped a crown when testing the slipper |
